No Brainer for Getting More Attention on Etsy: Monthly Merchandising Desk

Okay, like I've said before, sometimes, I'm a little slow to the draw.  I've not won any races for that, but I do get to the finish line anyway.  So I'm sharing more helpful tidbits that I've found.   And if you haven't found them yet either, you may find them good info too.

So here it is:  MONTHLY MERCHANDISING DESK on ETSY!  How's this suppose to help you?  Well, a lot of people make treasuries (including me) based on what's hot, trendy or seasonal and the merchandising desk gives you a lot of ideas for exactly that each and every month.  It's not asking you to make your shop over, but if you add some of those TAG & KEY WORDS that are appropriate to your shop and items, you'll get found easier by me who is making treasuries and others who are searching Etsy for seasonal items.  It has helped me to get found more, and to find you easier.  Unfortunately, I may not have found you yet, but these monthly ideas may help.

Read them at the 1st of every month.  Incorporate them into your shop and items!  Good luck and I hope we meet again soon----or for the first time!

In Case You Didn't Know: How To Get Your Treasury Onto Your Blogs

Yeah, sometimes I'm a bit slow.  So in case I'm not the only one, I thought I'd share this great FREE tool to help you share treasuries that you've made or that you're featured in. It's on Craft Cult.  You just add your username and find either all the treasuries you've made or the treasuries you've been featured in. You can make a widget with it, grab the code and share it on your blogs or other websites.  It's so easy that I'm  glad I finally found it.  It also has many other useful tools to help you with your Esty shop.  Check it out if you haven't already.  You'll be seeing me use it more on this blog.

Etsy Success Symposium

At the end of the week, on Friday, March 30 (10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. EST), Etsy's Online Labs are hosting the Etsy Success Symposium, which will stream for free.  Furthermore, to help promote and celebrate the symposium, Etsy is looking to feature some treasuries on the front page that speak to the theme of "Get Found" or the Symposium.

"Get Found" is what we're all about here at CCCOE, right?  So here are some details from the horse's mouth (that means from the Etsy team direct):

Hi everyone! We are going to feature some Treasuries on the Front Page to promote the Etsy Success Symposium, and we'd love your help!

If you're interested, make a Treasury that somehow speaks to the theme of "Get Found" or the Symposium.  Maybe it will be a space theme to mirror the Symposium logo. Maybe it will be a safari or "hidden treasures" theme. Have fun with it! We'll pick a few Treasuries to feature on the Front Page between Wed., Mar 28 - Fri, Mar 30.

TO PARTICIPATE: 1. Tag your Treasury with "Etsy Success Symposium". 2. In the first comment in the Treasury, say something like, "Check out the Etsy Success Symposium!" or "Made in honor of the Etsy Success Symposium" or something like that. Also, put a link to this: www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/etsy-success-symposium-get-found/ 3. Optional, but a plus: tweet a link to your Treasury @etsy with the #etsysuccess hashtag and a link to your Treasury. You can shorten your link with bitly.com/

TIPS: - The ones we feature will be of FP quality- great arrangement and balanced mix of items. It should make us want to click! But we encourage you to make what you feel like making! - Themes don't have to be heavily literal. - Using sellers who aren't featured regularly is a big plus! Help them get found :) - FP basics: all 16 slots filled with different sellers, avoid shops on vacation or reserved items. The top row should be the strongest!
