Hi, I'm Liz. 
My great-grandmother taught me to knit when I was 16. After she died I inherited all of her tools (no one else in the family picked up the habit). I stopped knitting sometime in college (time constraints), but I picked it up again in the late '90's, and I've been knitting continuously ever since.
As for crochet, I'm mostly self-taught (books and videos). I already had the tools--thanks Gram-Mavis!

In beautiful California when our April showers subside, you know that summer will soon begin.  The beautiful mountainous regions turn from fields of flowery blossoms and grassy green into the Golden State’s famous hills of gold.

It’s when farmer’s markets and street fairs begin to pop up on the streets and people come from local areas to gather, enjoy the fun and fest.

It’s a busy time for local produce farmers to come out to present their most recent crops of summer fruits and veggies.

And Artisans of all types, to show off their beautiful creations and designs.

Summer is best known as a time in which we in California experience the hottest and longest days in the year.  


It is a period of maturing powers and the perfect season for outdoor activities like vacationing, swimming, enjoying the ocean view on the doc or simply lazily laying on the beach sand to soak up a few rays lathered in sunscreen wearing your favorite crochet bikini...watching the children play in the surf.

The August Challenge

Kudos to everyone who joined the first week of the Summer Challenge. Come back tomorrow to see everyone that participated. But today, we're talking about...

Just a little something to keep us on our toes this month.

This is prime time for us to start getting our shops up to speed. We need to be adding inventory. Increasing visibility. Christmas is just around the corner, so now is the time to ramp up and get ready.

For the first week of August, your task is to complete one or more of the following...

1. A new listing in your shop (50 points)
2. Revamp an old listing in your shop (25 points)
3. Promote others in the challenge on one or more social media platforms (10 points)

Tag your new or revamped listings on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using #CCCOEchallenge. Tag your promotion of others as well. Or post your new listings as a comment on this post. And next week I'll have updated point totals for everyone.

The Summer Challenge

Is it the heat? The political climate? The doldrums before the Christmas rush?

Several members of the team have complained of a lack of motivation. We know there are things we should do for our shops, but we're just not very proactive in getting them done.

So, let's give ourselves a collective kick in the rear end.

I propose a challenge. From now through the end of August, I'll challenge everyone with a goal every couple of days. And you let us know if you've completed it.

First up, our shops. Several shop owners have expressed a desire to get more items listed in their shops. So, that's this week's challenge.

Post a new item in your shop by Friday, July 29th. (Or revamp an old item--new pictures, description, keywords, or whatever else it needs to feel fresh.) 

When you've listed your new item, let us know. Comment with a link to the item here, post it to the CCCOE Team's Facebook page, or post it on Instagram or Twitter with #CCCOEchallenge.

In trying to come up with a good theme for today, all I could think was "summer". As I look outside at the dreary, overcast, drizzly day. (Seriously. Drizzly. I felt speckles of water when I walked out about a half hour ago.)
